Save the Children recruits an ECCD Project Assistant – (2000041I) in Pursat

 

 

The role

The primary role of this post  is to provide day-to-day support and technical assistance to the ECCD Program Officer in the implementation of the Remote Early Learning project, making sure that planned outputs are delivered within the limits of time and resources, producing satisfactory outcomes in compliance with Save the Children’s and donors’ requirements and regulations.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the post holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly. As programme/project assistant, s/he is expected to mainstream and implement crosscutting themes including gender, resilience, disability and child safeguarding in the project management cycle.

 

Qualifications and experience

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or Early Childhood Development or any relevant field of study.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in ECCD work;
  • Experience in working with Commune Councils (CC), Commune Committee for Women and Children (CCWC)/Women and Children Consultative Committee (WCCC) or local government;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in teaching, training, mentoring and monitoring ECCD activities, preferably in public and community pre-schools;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in improving quality of the public and community pre-school services;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with appropriate written and spoken English and Khmer;
  • Be open, humble and a good listener, willing to share and work with cross-cultural teams;
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills;

Desireable

  • Proven skills in collecting, consolidating and analysing information, and writing reports;
  • Proven skills in training, teaching/facilitation, especially in early childhood education;
  • Ability and willingness to travel to all target schools and communities, and willingness to abide by SCI Child Protection Policy/Child Safe Guarding and Code of Conduct;
  • Ability to work under pressures and flexible working hours;
  • Ability to use spoken and written English.
