We are currently seeking qualified Deputy Chief of Party candidates the anticipated USAID-funded “Visit Tunisia” Tourism Development Activity in Tunisia.
Program Description :
The upcoming project seeks to enhance Tunisia’s tourism potential, with the goal of generating revenue and jobs, particularly for women and youth and for populations in underserved regions of the country. There are a number of objectives that need to be achieved in order to attain this vision, including: enhance Tunisia’s competitiveness as a tourism destination; increase tourism-related investments and revenue; and improve the enabling environment for sustained growth in the tourism sector.
Position Description :
The Deputy Chief of Party will report to the Chief of Party and assist him or her with the management of the project and coordination of technical, administrative and reporting functions. Among the direct reports to the DCOP will be most of the cross-cutting technical roles, such as MEL, communications, data support, GESI and grants management, as well as liaison to the FHI 360 administrative platform in Tunisia providing all support services such as finance, procurement, HR, IT and security.
Thus, the successful DCOP candidate will have strong project management credentials, demonstrable technical skills, and previous experience in complying with the legal, administrative and technical requirements of donor agencies.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in a relevant technical discipline or field or equivalent work experience, Masters degree preferred ;
- 8-10 or more years of relevant work experience in program design, project management, advisory services, and/or activity implementation relevant to the technical or operations areas identified above ;
- Prior experience managing teams in activity planning and implementation ;
- Knowledge of US Government and USAID regulations and policies for contractors preferred ;
- Previous work in Tunisia or North Africa and similar contexts ;
- Professional proficiency in oral and written English, plus fluency in Arabic and/or French (proficiency in both preferred) ;
- Tunisian nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
