The position of Site Manager has accountability for managing and delivering the operational performance of a large and complex project in Sydney’s CBD. This position has responsibility for resource planning, client relations, employee performance, sub-contractors, cost, quality, safety & environmental performance.
Primary accountabilities:
Forward planning, scheduling and organizing of site labor, plant, equipment and materials to meet program and budget.
The utilization of project management and reporting disciplines to meet daily / weekly / monthly requirements
Proactive management of safety performance, identification of risk and ensure safe work practices are adopted and supported with training.
Conduct and document safety pre starts, tool box talks and inspections to the expected frequency.
Monitor site productivity and labor efficiency.
Develop and maintain good client relationships, proactively solve problems, provide solutions and promote additional services and products.
Collaborate with Project Engineers on technical, constructability and feasibility matters.
Performance leadership for direct reports and sub-contractors.
Management of labor and employee relations issues.
The ability to scope, prepare and manage sub-contractor and supplier packages
Ability to perform cost control, programming and forecasting activities
Strong acumen and capability with contract administration and commercial issues.
Qualification:
Tertiary education in Engineering (preferred)
Skills & Experience:
At least 10 years’ experience as a Site Manager within the building industry
Ability to work on projects up to the value of $30M and be able to run them concurrently
Well- organized and ability to work independently
Tier 1 or 2 experience
Previously managed building construction in CBD/brownfield sites
Subcontractor management, steel construction, scaffolding experience required
Sound knowledge of construction methodologies and site coordination
Excellent understanding of WHS Compliance and safety and quality standards
