Description of Position

Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Director and the Global Partnerships and Surge Coordinator the Surge HR Officer will support all HR related processes for iMMAP’s Global Surge Tools, including the Standby Partnership Programme.

The HR Officer will be responsible to select and accept suitable profiles from among the applicants for the iMMAP Surge Roster in accordance with the established internal HR policies and procedures.

Description of Duties

  1. Act as focal point for HR related workflows and processes within the Global Surge Team of iMMAP.
  2. Implement and design HR monitoring and tracking tools, to ensure a real time overview of iMMAP’s Surge personnel status of deployments.
  3. Track, monitor and ensure that all iMMAP Surge Roster members have their profiles updated regularly, including all the necessary security/Admin and HR related documents.
  4. Act as the focal point for the Knowledge Management portfolio for HR related documents, on behalf of the Global Surge Team.
  5. Manage the on-boarding and off-boarding processes for all iMMAP Surge personnel.
  6. Provide HR and Admin briefings to all deployed Surge personnel for iMMAP, including the Standby Partnership Programme.
  7. Track and monitor all deployed Surge personnel for iMMAP, including the Standby Partnership Programme.
  8. Work closely with the HR Department in defining, improving and implementing all HR related policies and procedures.
  9. Provide user feedback on the improvement of the iMMAP HR Platform, iMMAP Careers.
  10. Support and participate on all HR recruitments for the iMMAP Global Surge Team.
  11. Development of onboarding recruitment package and training for Surge personnel.
  12. Support in the creation of generic job profiles for iMMAP, following the existing job profiles and the HR platform structure.
  13. Support in updating the policy tracker and any additional task related to policy development and implementation at the global level.
  14. Provide timely HR / Admin support to all Global Surge deployed personnel, when required.

Requirements

  • Masters level University degree in International Relations, Humanitarian Operations, Project Management or relevant specialties;
  • At least 2 years of experience as HR for international humanitarian and development organizations (United Nations and International NGOs) in complex humanitarian emergencies (disasters and man-made) and development;
  • A background working in not-for-profit, internationally‐focused organizations, and experience leading programs in risk-adverse environments;
  • Experience in working within a multi-cultural and diverse environment;
  • Experience and appreciation of Information and knowledge management and capacity building programs;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills which enables the incumbent to effectively communicate across a variety of platforms and continents;
  • Strong speaking and writing skills;
  • Strong organisation skills, very good knowledge of HRIS and HR challenges;
  • A background working in Human Resources departments and participating in recruitment processes;
  • Good knowledge of Information Management skills and practices;
  • Fluent in English and French.
