 MyAgro helps farmers move out of poverty: we do this with a simple approach. We help farmers manage their cash flow better – at harvest time when farmers have more cash, they can lock away their funds for seeds and fertilizer for the next season. They pay using their mobile phone (or mobile money in Tanzania) and myAgro delivers the inputs they’ve paid for before it rains and provides technical training so farmers know how to use the inputs efficiently. This leads to 50% more food and 50% more income per farm. The primary objective of IT support Assistant is to provide support for field teams, manage IT equipment, incident resolution, ongoing maintenance, implementation, testing, trend analysis and the demand for equipment. This position is expected to make regular and routine visits to the field to gather information, resolve ongoing issues, assist with incident resolution and inform the office of any upcoming changes.

Required Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Development or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (IT/technical support, IT analyst)
  • Fluent in English and French. Wolof nice to have
  • Highly organized and excellent communication skills
  • Passionate about using technology for development
  • Knowledge of Google Suite tools (Google Sheets, Docs and Slides) or other productivity tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team spirit with good interpersonal skills
  • Experience with equipment and inventory management processes and
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Initiative to anticipate problems and provide solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Systems: Windows Desktop and Server OS, Apple OS X and iOS, Android OS
  • Hardware: laptops, mobiles, tablets and conference room devices.
  • Good knowledge and technical proficiency with asset management software and/or inventory tracking systems.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of the end user device lifecycle. This includes equipment management, budget planning for annual replacement of end user devices, inventory management of spare equipment and peripherals needed by the business, and ensuring that secure disposal of retired assets is done in accordance with company standards and norms.

Desired but not required criteria

  • Previous experience in generating reports based on a CRM system or relational database;
  • Excellent knowledge (and experience) in computer network configuration and administration (Lan, Wlan, VPN, Internet Access);
  • Experience with IT support systems (FreshDesk, ..);
  • Good English Level.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Perform inventories and usage tracking of all IT assets and record all findings, changes, physical location and incidences of support;
  • Provide support for IT related infrastructure including desktops, laptops, tablets, software, phone system, hotspots and internet access;
  • Keep current systems up to date and in good operating condition by performing routine maintenance and upgrades;
  • Oversee a support ticket system, resolve issues and provide excellent support to all end users;
  • Configure new computers and assist with hardware and software repair and;
  • Instruct users on the use and maintenance of computers, software and networks;
  • Conduct physical inventory of equipment within teams to ensure alignment of inventory records with physical inventories;
  • Support the collaboration of the IT Asset Management and Logistics teams to ensure proper inventory levels, transfers and efficient deployment of;
  • Update and maintain the asset management system;
  • Manage internal inventory of IT equipment and accessories;
  • Monitor incoming email, WhatsApp and call requests, documenting and responding to messages as;
  • Assist staff and users with technology related issues;
  • Provide support for myAgro software tools and systems;
  • Perform hardware troubleshooting and escalate issues to other members of the IT;
  • Implement and assist in the deployment of new applications, tools and systems;
  • Prioritize and manage multiple open issues, created by staff, at the same time in our ticketing systems;
  • Assist in testing new products, features, and systems to ensure technology tools are ready for use in the field.
