Job Overview: The Grants and Compliance Coordinator is a member of the DevComms team and supports IRC’s programming in New York and New Jersey by implementing community outreach and grant-related activities. They support business development to expand community support,
maximizing our impact in the communities we serve. The Grants and Compliance Coordinator serves the IRC’s offices in New York (Manhattan) and Elizabeth, New Jersey and reports to the Development Director.

Major Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support program teams in tracking and coordinating the fulfillment of donor reporting requirements for contributions, grants and contracts in the NY and NJ offices.
  • Ensure donor financial and narrative reporting is aligned with proposal, contract, and backup documentation.
  • Track donor funds to their appropriate accounting codes, flagging any outstanding vouchers or funds.
  • Conduct regular data gathering from program teams to populate donor reports.
  • Coordinate accurate record keeping and reporting, including entering donations into Salesforce, monitoring and maintaining quality of data and records in the system, and generating and analyzing reports as needed.
  • Employ IRC’s PEERS process to support subgrants and subcontracting as needed.
  • Correspond with current and potential donors and partners, including generating donation acknowledgments.
  • Contribute to proposal development as needed.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures and protocols of the agency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of two to three years of professional work experience required with progressive levels of responsibility in resource development, fundraising, or related area. Experience with database management (Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge) grantwriting and individual fundraising strongly preferred.
  • Proven organizational skills in a complex, multi-tasking environment and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with current and prospective donors and volunteers, partner agencies, multi-cultural clients and colleagues on all levels.
  • Superior writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail. Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work some evening and weekend hours for events as needed.
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken.
