Appel à candidature : Mission Multidimensionnelle Intégrée des Nations Unies pour la Stabilisation au Mali (MINUSMA) recrute un(e) Assistant(e) en information géospatiale à Bamako, Mali.
Within delegated authority, the Geographic Information Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
• Coordinates and prepares the timely creation of standard and specialized thematic mapping products at all scales to support decision making and information dissemination processes of other sections;
• Leads the team in the collection, processing and evaluation of geographic data, to include vector, raster and thematic data to enhance mission spatial databases;
• Participates in the quality control of all geographic information products, such as the mission gazetteer to ensure that it is up-to-date and effective;;
• Creates topographic style mapping to support mission operations;
• Conducts geographic/terrain analysis studies to assist in operational decision making;
• Populates GIS data repository and implement appropriate data security and access controls;
• Takes the lead in the archiving of the mission’s geographic data and maintain the mission’s geo-database system;

• Undertakes the timely exchange of geographic information between the mission and other entities, including the UN Global Service Centre (UNGSC);
• Maintains a working relationship with key clients to leverage the use of data source methods to support their programmatic areas through solutions built by the team and by establishing communication channels through meetings, email, and other means;
• Coordinates with counterparts in other offices of the mission, UN agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and the host nation on collection and sharing of geospatial data;
• Conducts geographic information training and education programmes for mission staff;
• Assists in managing the technical work of junior staff;
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Technical or vocational training in Cartography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geo-database management and/or equivalent, involving geographic information and image processing programs is required.GIS Systems Administration are desirable.
At least eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of geospatial information or related fields is required.
Experience in using GIS software, ArcGIS (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro), ERDAS Imagine and open-source GIS is required.
At least three (3) years-experience in managing geo-databases and associated web technologies/services is required.
Direct experience with geo-databases and geospatial information applications including IPB (Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield) military experience, especially in Terrain Analysis is desirable.
French and English are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required; Knowledge of French is desirable.
