Objectives

The objective of the consultancy is to:

• Transcribe and translate all interviews across three rounds of data collection for rolling profiles with 48 individuals total (the same individuals were interviewed thrice)
• Conduct qualitative analysis of all the rolling profiles data.
• Submit a final report of the analysis.

Rolling Profiles are like ‘human interest stories’ combined with qualitative interviewing and a take on a longitudinal study. They involve interviewing the same individuals – and a variety of individuals – periodically, across the life of an intervention, to understand how that individual’s knowledge, actions and interactions are changing – or not – and the factors that contribute to or influence that change. Analyzing the responses across time, as well as across groups of similar individuals, or even different individuals, is also done periodically and systematically, to look for patterns and trends and uncover elements that are less conscious.

For the purposes of GEEPS, rolling profiles are being used to assess changes in social and gender norms.

The project conducted data collection of rolling profile with a set of qualitative tools. The targeted populations included girls, boys and male primary caretakers, and female primary caretakers, with a total of 48 individuals surveyed. The data collection took place in two phases: one conducted in April 2022 and second round of interviews conducted in Oct 2022 and third round in April 2023. The interviews were recorded, and the same group of participants were interviewed across both data collection rounds.

Expected duration of the assignment

The consultancy shall be executed within a maximum of 10 days, commencing after signing the contract. The proposal should include a detailed schedule.

Professional Skills and Qualifications

• Prior experience in qualitative data transcription and translation.
• Prior experience conducting rolling profiles analysis.
• Relevant subject matter knowledge and experience: knowledge and experience required on conducting longitudinal qualitative research, the education sector, gender and gender equality
• Qualitative analysis: a range of statistical modelling and analysis of impact data; highly proficient user of: such as NVivo and other qualitative data analysis techniques.
• Excellent report writing skills and experience in producing high-quality reports on outcomes of qualitative analysis.
