Job Purpose

Under the general supervision of the Country Office HR Business Partner (India & Nepal), incumbent will be responsible for providing support with HR delivery for IRRI country offices in India and Nepal. The incumbent will manage recruitment and selection of assigned positions and advising staff on IRRI policies and processes. In addition to these, the position holder will also contribute to organising staff engagement initiatives, learning and development and managing staff exit. The incumbent to this position will also be responsible to deputise for the position of HR Business Partner as and when required.

International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), with the support of the Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture, and Farmers’ Welfare, has established IRRI-South Asia Regional Centre (ISARC) in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It is a regional facility that supports research collaboration, training, and service provision to institutions, scientists, farmers, and other stakeholders from India and other South Asian and African nations.This position will be based at Varanasi , India and may only be filled by permanent citizens of the India.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitments of assigned Nationally Recruited Positions and short-term positions while ensuring an open, transparent, fair and competitive selection process at all times.
  • Manage pre-joining process and documentation of the selected candidate.
  • Ensure effective onboarding of selected resource including organising and conducting comprehensive induction programs for both new hires and existing staff on a regular basis
  • Lead on timely facilitation and completion of performance appraisal for all NRS in India and Nepal
  • Interpret and advise staff on IRRI HR Policies for the region
  • Manage and support with assigned deliverables to implement learning and development initiatives
  • Interact and engage with all staff from time to time to address queries on HR policies and procedures
  • Support with managing all staff communications including relevant process timelines and creating staff awareness on policy changes
  • Manage smooth flow of communication and regular correspondence with counterparts in HQ and other regions to ensure process alignment
  • Execute a fair, objective, transparent and competitive recruitment process per defined processes for assigned positions
  • Advise and guide staff on medical and accident insurance benefits timely and coordinate with HQ to ensure effective facilitation
  • Manage and generate effective and accurate reports such as on recruitments, advisory services, exits, appraisal ratings etc.
  • Execute staff exit process including the conduct of exit interviews.
  • Support with compensation benchmarking and data compilation studies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Personnel Management, Industrial psychology or another related discipline with minimum 5 years of relevant practical work experience in a shared services platform; or
  • Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Personnel Management, industrial psychology or another related discipline with minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in shared services platform

  • Proficient in Microsoft office, experienced in using database system;
  • Experience of working in a shared service platform.
