JOB PURPOSE
Under the supervision of the Warehouse Pharmacist, the role delivers timely, effective, and accountable logistics support to INTERSOS warehouse functions including the receiving and dispatch of goods to field locations and warehouse inventory tracking.
- Assisting in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy warehouse duties.
- Support the checking, recording, and putting away of goods received, under the supervision of the Pharmacy Warehouse Pharmacist.
- Assisting in inventory levels (physical counts), and system inventory.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the receipt, handling, storage, release, and reporting of goods through the INTERSOS warehouse(s) and advises the supervisor of potential inventory shortage;
- Filling drug orders, by correctly picking the drugs;
- Support the dispatch areas (by destination) are clearly identified;
- Correctly packing the products for outbound movement of the goods (appropriately for the mode of transport chosen);
- Support the storage of goods on shelves or pallets (as necessary), in a clean, tidy, and easily accessible manner;
- Help with physical inventories;
- Ensures that quarantined and expired products are stored appropriately;
- Support weekly cleaning and maintaining the hygiene of the working area and pharmacy warehouse environment;
- Ensures that all records including inventory lists of INTERSOS items and equipment are updated and easily available to authorized users;
- Support organization, storage, and warehouse of equipment and materials including proper use of documents, monitoring and reporting stock level;
- Implements and ensures clear safety protocols; loading/unloading procedures, correct stacking, and stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) procedures;
- On a monthly basis, work with the Warehouse Pharmacist to reconcile the Warehouse inventory and the monthly requisition forms and purchase orders;
- Support administrative procedures and standards for order follow-up, ordering, stock keeping, and dispatch are followed;
- Carry out any other duties assigned by Supervisor;
- Ensures adherence to INTERSOS handbook, Standard operating procedures, guidelines, and Donor requirements.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma / SSCE in Sciences or any related field.
- Minimum completed Secondary School.
- Previous working experience as an Order picker will be a plus.
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in medical commodity warehousing, pharmacy inventory management, and administration.
Personal requirements
- Physically mobile, agile, able to lift 30kg without strain.
- Able to stand and walk all day.
- Competent in spoken and written English and Hausa
- Flexibility under pressure and in response to changing needs.
- Attention to detail and excellent numeracy.
- Competent use of computers especially spreadsheets (format/sort/filter), MS Word, and emailing.
