Overview

Jhpiego is recruiting HIV Diagnostic Assistants (2) to based at Kamuzu Barracks in Lilongwe and Engineers Batallion in Kasungu. The incumbents will conduct HIV risk assessments and provide quality HIV-related testing and other testing services. They will also ensure effective linkage and referrals of clients. He/she will document and coordinate testing results and clearly record, report and ensure detailed documentation related to their work.

Responsibilities

  • Risk Assessment, Pre-test Education, and Post-test Counseling for both on-site and outreach/mobile
  • Conduct demonstration and distribution of self-test kits for
  • Provide HIV Testing and other related test including but not limited to HIV RDT, syphilis RDT, HepB RDT, VL, DNA-PCR (DBS, plasma, POC), CD4 (rapid and whole blood), urine LAM, serum CrAg, recency rapid test, DBS for repeat inconclusive
  • Actively support linkage to care and treatment services for all HIV+
  • Actively offer and provide referrals to other services – VMMC, PREP, PEP, Condoms
  • Ensure there is proper recording and storage of documentation of all client services in standard M&E tools; monthly reporting of aggregate service data following MOH standards. Data management (collect, store, and analyze data).
  • Coordinate effectively with all the team members within a
  • Contact elicitation for active/passive index testing, follow-up, and HIV status ascertainment of contacts, including HIV testing, and active referral for HIV-infected contacts.
  • Documentation and reporting of stock and utilization data for all commodities at the service delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Should be a holder of MSCE with credits in Science Subjects and;
  • Certified HIV Testing and Counseling provider by MoH;
  • Proficient in writing and speaking English and any local;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality of client information;
  • Culturally sensitive to gender norms;
  • Team player;
  • Numerical skills;
  • Should require minimum;
  • Experience working in an HIV Facility will be an added;
  • Knowledge of computer skills e.g., MS Word, Excel will be an added advantage;
  • Must be able to ride a motorbike  and Possession of  valid Motorbike riding license.
