Project Overview and Role:
The Program Officer will provide technical support to the Pathways Program team in implementing its core activities in Teacher Development, both at the Pre- and In-Service levels, and other areas of work that are related to this.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the project employee may involve contact and working with children or young people.
The key responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following.
- Assist in preparing quality design of activities, programs, and projects that are linked to the program goals, end-of-program outcomes, and approved annual plan;
- Support in organizing activities, which may include coordination and liaising with program partners and stakeholders, service providers, technical support in managing the day-to-day operations of activities/program, documentation of proceedings, and drafting of activity accomplishment reports;
- Provide support in managing the upcoming Teaching Education Institutions (TEI) Forum activity, including:-Assist in monitoring the deliverables of the service provider and flag activity lead of delays
-Assist in checking the milestone deliverables of the service provider for completion and compliance with specifications
-Organize and document all progress monitoring meetings with the service provider
-Assist in organizing and documenting the in-house team review papers and other presentation materials for the TEI Forum
-Organize and file all the documents ie. reports, minutes of meetings, proceedings, and project proposals
- Support the M&E team in its monitoring activities related to in-service and pre-service teacher development, which may include providing teacher development specific technical support on surveys, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and gathering of data and information;
- Assist in the implementation, monitoring and reporting of capacity building activities of Teacher Development and other capacity building activities that may be related to or done in collaboration with Teacher Development;
- Provide support to the drafting of annual work plans, six-monthly progress reports, budgets and monitoring of expenditures against the approved budget;
- Other duties as may be reasonably required by the Deputy Team Leader for Programs and Teacher Development Adviser.
Required Qualifications:
The Program Officer should have the following qualifications and experience:
- Formal qualifications and experience relating to Teaching, Teacher Training, Development Education or Learning and Development;
- Relevant working experiences in a development assistance project or similar work environment; experience working for an education program and in BARMM is an advantage;
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the education sector and the Mindanao contexts;
- In-depth understanding of the ways in which teacher quality can be developed;
- Good understanding of cross cutting issues such as gender, disability, environment, child protection and disaster risk reduction;
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Excellent organizing, facilitation, liaison and coordination skills;
- Excellent command of the English Language, both written and spoken;
- Has strong project and time management skills, including, the ability to meet tight deadlines and adapting to varying work demands
