Job Description
The Operations department currently seeks to appoint a Stock Controller. In this role your responsibilities will be:
Depot Stock:
- Training of all users on the completion of stock control report (MBR) and stock control assistance (travel may be required).
- Daily review and feedback of MBR submissions to the depots
- Random and unannounced stock verifications at depots
- Ensuring the integrity of inventory balances and reviewing inventory reconciliations performed by depots
- Obtaining explanations for volume or value variances between SAP and MBR
- Supervising and processing gains and losses in SAP
- Reporting per depot monthly gains and losses in volume and value
- Analyzing the results related to inventory movements and valuations
- Performing or Assisting with investigations regarding stock gains and losses
- Representation of TGSA in disciplinary and CCMA hearings
- Suggesting improvements to process, control measures and procedures to improve stock control
- Maintain constant business interaction, questioning of stock flows, root cause analysis and remedies for problem areas
- Update and re-distribute MBR template with improved efficiency and controls updates.
- Monitoring and Updating depot compliance to Flammable Liquid License in MBR
- Create/Review Totalgaz Stock Control Policies and Procedures annually or as required
- Calculating and Monitor if depots remain within Total’s gains and losses tolerance
Bulk Stock:
- Monitoring and actioning delivery and upliftment quantity discrepancies
- Reconciling SAP processing with communication from transporter (STATS) weekly and monthly
- Ensuring STATS reflect accurate uplifted and delivered volumes and liaising with transporters
- Obtaining explanations for volume gains and losses from transporters
- Obtaining explanations for volume variances from SAP processed items and STATS
- Calculating the gains and losses monthly and quarterly per truck for the transporters
- Calculating and processing the gains and losses in SAP
- Reporting bulk gains and losses in volume and value
- Performing investigations and reporting inconsistencies with transport team and transporters
- Create/Amend Totalgaz Stock Control Policies and Procedures
- Suggesting improvements to process, control measures and procedures to improve stock control
- Maintain constant business interaction, questioning of stock flows, root cause analysis and remedies for problem areas
Mass Balance:
- Compile a detailed monthly Mass balance report after month end processing in line with Total’s Company Rules which will include:
- Monthly gains and losses per Depot (Cylinders and Bulk)
- Comments / Explanations for Gains and Losses out of tolerance
Seals:
- Monitor and ensure and implement strong seal controls with regards to the distribution and usage of seals
- Perform gains and losses in SAP
- Report to management monthly the gains and losses
Training and guidance provided on usage of seals
Candidate profile
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Tertiary qualification – Stock Management/Bookkeeping and warehousing background, B Com or Auditing will be advantageous
- Two (2) to Five (5) years job related work experience
- Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office
- Experience in dealing with accounts, including invoicing, credit notes, debit notes, journals, inter-branch transfers, the age analysis process, customer account reconciliation and credit limits
- Must have experience in FMCG environment
- A high level of computer and basic accounting proficiency
- Logistics operation experience an advantage
- Strong communication skills
High personal INTEGRITY and trustworthiness and reliability
Other:
Attend on – going training and develop relevant knowledge and personal skills as provided by the company
Any other activity instructed to perform.
