The African Union Development Agency-NEPAD has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the African Agri-Business Engine, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for a Consultancy services for Market Insights and Business Intelligence through Comprehensive Market Analyses in 5 countries (Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania) in Potatoes, Rice, Soybeans, Horticulture and Sunflower value chains, respectively.
The services included under this consultancy are described below :
- Develop and validate Country value chain Fact Sheets and Business Opportunities for private sector investment in each of the project countries ;
- Develop a Compendium of Country Fact Sheets and Business Opportunities in 5 Value Chains (Potatoes, Rice, Soybeans, Horticulture and Sunflower) and 5 Countries (Kenya,
Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, and Tanzania)
The assignment will be undertaken in the following five countries: Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda and Tanzania, and will last 04 months. The estimated starting date is May 1, 2021.
The African Union Development Agency-NEPAD now invites eligible consultant firms to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s Procurement Framework for Bank Group-funded Operations, October 2015 edition., which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
