Job Description

• Adhering to an HSE system and ensuring all work carried out is 100% safety compliant in terms of the 12 golden rules as prescribed by Total.
• Creating and promoting a safety culture at all levels and in all areas of works carried out by Security related projects.
• Aiding the ML team to ensure compliance with the Voluntary Principles of Security and Human Rights (VPSHR) as well as regular information sessions for the JTF on this topic.
• Reporting on issues to the ML team in order to keep the VPSHR Register regarding the community and project up to dat.
• Develop and maintain established network with local and national police and military security services.
• Report accurately on VPSHR and other training to the ML team.
• Updating daily, weekly and monthly reports on all activities related to the Memorandum of Agreement in related to Host Government Security Forces (HGSF).
• Maintain detailed records of the composition of the JTF as well as all equipment issued to the JTF under the MoU and reporting this to the MLC on a regular basis.
• Monitor the day to day disposition of the military troops to secure the area of operations in accordance with the MOU.
• Report on and monitor levels of consumption rates (food, fuel, water and other consumables.)
• Encourage the JTF to comply with TEPMA1 and Project rules and regulations with respect to HSE (speeding, treating communities with respect etc)

Context and environment

• The Position is a Rotational Back to Back position
• Work will be executed in locations across Mozambique, primarily in Cabo Delgado province on site at Afungi, the working environment will be in Tropical conditions and can at times become uncomfortable, as well as call for long working hours.
• The area is a high-risk malaria zone and it is the responsibility of the contractor to take all necessary precautions to avoid contracting Malaria.
• Afungi is a construction camp and shared facilities is the norm, food, and all necessary basics to conduct your day to day life will be supplied however the job requires a 24/7 availability should emergency work be required

Candidate profile

• Fluent in English and Portuguese as a spoken Language
• No Criminal record
• Basic computer skills, Experience on Windows System
• Have a basic high school diploma
• Preferably have a strong military or Police background.
• Have 10 years experience minimum  working with Military and Police personnel.
• Valid driver’s License
• Valid passport
