Objective :
The objective of this assignment is to capture stories from the field into human interest stories format in addition to multimedia documentation (photo, video, audio) documentation with close coordination with NCCM and UNICEF.
Under the guidance of aforementioned the contractor will be required to provide :
- Photo documentation for Dawwie ;
- Human interest stories for digital usage (including still shots, short 1-2 minute videos and written stories from the field) ;
- Significant change stories involves collecting “stories” about change at regular intervals and interpreting / discussing them in a participatory way (through group discussions etc).
Scope of work :
The contractor will provide digital photographs and human-interest stories for documentation purposes, as well as usage for social media materials, campaign publications, and website content. The contractor must have good command of own photographic equipment (cameras, lenses, lights, filters, tripods), as well as photo-related image editing software, strong storytelling skills and excellent command of Arabic and English to capture human interest stories from the field. Service provision will include field trips to UNICEF project sites within the country and communities in which UNICEF is present to capture girls, boys, parents and communities in various settings and on occasions specialized conceptual photos. In addition to supplying photos and short videos, the photographer will also be required to submit photo captions, human interest stories in both Arabic and English. The captions should include names of subjects included in the photo, their age, institution and location, and description of the photo.
On assignment for UNICEF, the photographer is expected to show appropriate sensitivity towards the people they are photographing. Photographer is also required to follow UNICEF photography standards and to comply with UNICEF policies and procedures, including Policy on Conduct Promoting the Protection and Safeguarding of Children. UNICEF applicable guidelines and policies will be provided upon contract signature. With the support of UNICEF, the photographers will obtain the relevant written consent for photographs usage from concerned people/authorities.

The Consultant shall provide and transmit, under the advice of UNICEF personnel, a selection of the best images (50 or fewer, but inclusive of all key moments) from different Dawwie activities from the field..
Each image from the optimized edit as well as the full take must include in the photo description: the full name of the photographer for photo credit, the date, and the city/country. A descriptive caption written in complete sentences in English is mandatory. The caption should describe the who, what, when and where of the photo. Please note that key images must be shot in horizontal format in highest quality.
Photos cannot be distributed to any press or be posted on digital platform without UICEF signoff.

The Consultant shall provide and transmit, under the advice of UNICEF personnel, a selection of 20 human interest stories (in Arabic and English) from the field with their photos and 5 short 1-2 minutes videos (with English subtitles).
The stories should provide diverse voices of girls, boys and parents, community members , and what they consider as the significant changes occurring at community and individual-when experiencing Dawwie related activities. the stories will be used to showcase Dawwie and amplify the impact of girls’ voices on different digital platforms including facebook and website.

The contractor should be a resident of Egypt.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- University graduate minimum of 5 years’ experience as professional photographer ;
- Good knowledge of technical requirements and settings for taking photos in various settings (i.e. outdoor, indoor, portraits, group activities etc.) is expected and minimum requirements for videography ;
- Experience covering social, humanitarian and development subjects will be an asset ;
- Experience with UNICEF and /or other UN agencies and INGOs will be an asset ;
- Knowledge on ethical standards in reporting on issues related to children will be an asset ;
- Excellent command and fluency in English and Arabic (reading and writing) is a must.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
