Advocacy Officer – ACCM
The Role
The Advocacy Officer will play a critical role in delivering timely and quality advocacy and policy work on Save the Children’s national advocacy agenda (which is subject to change but currently includes humanitarian/DRR issues, health and nutrition). He/she will directly manage relationships with Congress, the administration and coalition partners in furtherance of securing national level policy change on humanitarian and development policy issues of priority to Save the Children.
Qualifications
Essential
- Experience with advocacy, representation and communications with evidence of impact on influencing policy makers
- Experience of advocacy and policy work in or with the Philippines Congress
- Experience of advocacy capacity building
- Experience of managing or coordinating organisation of advocacy/policy events
- Good knowledge of humanitarian, health and/or economic development policy in the Philippines
- Proven research and writing skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Knowledge of children’s rights key international agreements and conventions
- Experience with “child led” advocacy
- Commitment to Save the Children values
- Excellence in written and spoken English and Tagalog
Contract length: Fixed Term position until May 1, 2021 based in National Capital Region
