Context :
SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organisation for the global federation of SOS Children’s Villages. As a non-governmental social development organisation, we support children without parental care and families in difficult living conditions through services in care, education, health and emergency relief, and we advocate for the rights of children and young people, in alliance with a great diversity of partners. We work in 135 countries and territories, reaching over one million children, young people, families and caregivers each year. To support us with this important responsibility we are now looking for committed Global M&E Advisor.
Tasks and Responsibilities :
This position will support the achievement of SOS’ strategic priority 1: locally contextualised programmes. This is done through contributing to the global implementation of results-based management (RBM). The RBM project is a high-priority for the federation and requires additional resources to meet the steering and information expectations of key stakeholders, including IO management and PSAs. This position will focus on international tasks (80%), with the remaining time spent supporting regional RBM implementation (20%).
The Global M&E Advisor is responsible for :
International Office :
- Maintain and update RBM training package and the conceptualisation and development of virtual learning opportunities (in several languages) ;
- Prepare quarterly bulletins, manage SharePoint to keep MAs informed ;
- Support cross-functional alignment to ensure a streamlined programme management process with cross-functional support ;
- Hold global webinars for RBM practitioners on both good practice sharing and content inputs ;
- Coordinate monitoring of RBM implementation in programmes, incl. tracking of workshop dates, outputs, and follow up processes ;

- Provide advice to national associations on resource allocation and prioritization of results-based management processes in terms of priority.
International Office Region :
- Ensure staff capacity building on RBM (training of trainers and training of PD/ IPD staffs) ;
- Support in strengthening and monitoring RBM implementation within the region ;
- Contribute to the development of IPD funded project when needed.
Job Requirements :
- A degree or postgraduate qualification in project management, business administration, Social Work, IT or equivalent ;
- At least 5 years’ work experience in similar field, with an Experience with programme management IT systems (e.g. Amp Impact, NGO online) ;
- Strong experience in Results Based Management (RBM) ;
- Proven leadership and people management skills ;
- Experience with social media, especially with blogs ;
- Positive and professional approach. Ability to work independently, self-organise, use initiative, fulfil commitments and meet deadlines ;
- Good written and verbal communication skills ;
- Well-developed facilitation, group leadership and presentation skills ;
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) ;
- A team player who is culturally astute, respectful and tolerant ;
- Fluency in English and French (spoken and written) is necessary ;
- Proficiency in Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish is desirable.
