INDIVIDUAL LONG-TERM CONSULTANT
Expressions of Interest requested for an Individual Long-term Consultant Position
- The African Development Bank invites eligible consultants experienced in matters of Fund Raising to indicate their interest in providing services to assist the Resource Mobilization Team in the Power Systems Development (PESD) Department ;
- The services to be provided under the Assignment, which will be based on guidance from the Task Manager include :
- Conduct a comprehensive analysis of potential donors to assess the feasibility of securing funding for the Department’s planned projects and programs ;
- Map donors’ strategic areas of interest and explore opportunities for partnerships within a planned facility; while mobilizing and leveraging resources from emerging donors-the BRIC countries, for example and private sector (foundations) ;
- Develop a plan for pursuing new donors (traditional and non-traditional) and obtaining funding for PESD work programme ;
- Develop strategy for fundraising given global macro-economic challenges, methods, tactics and focus (bilateral, private sector, public funding, foundations) ;
- Resource mobilization strategy should be specific as follows ;
- Cognizant of the various economic shocks faced around the World and how that affects funding ;
- Reflects recognition of need to diversify the funding base, particularly in relation to the private sector ;
- Multi-year funding within mandate and strategic priorities ;
- Identifies raising of resources aligned to goals and objectives of the relevant country/institution plan ;
- Contains clear targets, monitoring and reporting mechanisms geared to the Strategic Plan.
- Interested Consultants shall provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to undertake this assignment (documents, reference to similar services, CVs, experience in similar assignments, etc.) ;
- The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedure shall be in conformity with the Bank’s Rules and Procedure for the Use of Consultants. Please, note that interest expressed by a Consultant does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include him/her in the shortlist ;
- The duration of services is twelve (12) months and the estimate starting date is January 4 2021 ;

For the EOI to be considered, the consultant needs to be registered in the AfDB DACON Consultant Database.
- A shortlist of three to six individual consultants will be established at the end of the request of expressions of interest. The consultants on the shortlist will be judged on the following criteria :
