Job Overview:
Based in Tapachula, Child Minders (3 positions) are responsible for supervising, nurturing, and caring for young children while their parents/caregivers participate in cultural orientation sessions.
Key Working Relationships:
Position Reports to: Cultural Orientation Senior Trainer
Position supervises: no one, but must interact respectfully with all persons
Responsibilities
- Nurture and care for children while parents attending training sessions.
- Interact with children in a positive manner.
- Organize activities that stimulate children’s intellectual, physical, social and emotional learning.
- Supervise and monitor the safety of children at all times.
- Prepare and serve food and supervise children during snack- and meal-times; wipe hands and mouths before and after meals.
- Ensure staff and children practice good hand-washing techniques.
- Keep the area and equipment clean and safe throughout the day.
- Comfort children when they are crying.
- Supervise children while they are playing inside, outside or on a playground.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Observe IRC’s Standards for Professional Conduct.
Profil
Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- 3+ years’ child-care experience
- Caring and compassionate attitude a must
