Job Profile
The Strategic Planning Unit provides relevant strategy, planning, economic and other important inputs that guide operational departments in the development of their work plans, and helps senior management decision-making processes that feed into overall strategy development. The role will entail significant involvement in monitoring the implementation of the Fund’s strategy, including initiatives, action plans, targets and policies, in addition to the supporting data collection and analysis. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with various stakeholders, contribute to strategic decision making processes and provide valuable insights to drive the achievement of strategic objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Program/Project Management:
- Monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of ongoing projects, identifying potential risks, challenges, and opportunities.
- Develop and implement effective monitoring frameworks to track strategic performance indicators and provide recommendations for improvement.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret relevant data (including geopolitical and economic developments) to inform strategic decision-making and benchmark/measure organizational performance.
- Develop data collection methodologies and tools, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of data.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to derive insights, identify trends, and support evidence-based decision-making.
Strategic Planning and Implementation:
- Support the development and refinement of organizational strategies, goals, and objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective execution of strategic initiatives.
- Provide recommendations and insights based on data analysis to enhance strategic planning processes.
Research and Market Analysis:
- Conduct research on emerging trends, best practices, and innovations in international development.
- Support the Director, Strategic Planning in any other assigned tasks and initiatives as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in Project/Program Management, Public Policy Analysis, International Development, Business Administration or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience, preferably at another development finance institution or strategy consulting firm.
- Recognized certification in Program or Project Management is an asset.
- Fluent in English. A good working knowledge of Arabic, German, Spanish, or French is an added advantage.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including long form documents and PowerPoint presentations.
- Experience in dashboard development is a plus.
