The Manager, Knowledge Management will report to the Senior MEL Advisor of USAID’s ACTB activity with frequent communications with the Principle Investigator and the Senior Manager, Communications. The position holder will be responsible for the traditional and digital learning approaches to develop and implement innovative, creative, and effective ways to strategically capture, interpret and showcase technical knowledge and best practices to donors, partners, and other stakeholders. S/He will identify, package, and disseminate key information to improve existing practices and provide practitioners with the tools for effective program implementation and develop communication and knowledge management assets, generate resources, and assist in ongoing content development with the objective of ensuring proper KM activities of USAID’s ACTB within the guidelines of icddr,b. S/he will be involved in–
- Prepare and develop draft plans and tasks for deploying KM strategy;
- Secure approvals from respective offices and execute tasks as planned;
- Coordinate with various internal stakeholders for the deployment of plans;
- Monitor progress of plans, resolve issues and highlight deviations;
- Provide regular status updates and progress reports in order to deploy the KM strategy;
- Collect and publish KM stories from activity leads and partners in different platforms and forums;
- Operationalize an end-to-end knowledge mobilization strategy that links content development and engagement strategies that facilitate timely, useful delivery of information through project learning platforms and activities;
- Facilitate the transfer of vetted synthesized evidence between content experts (Technical Specialists), data synthesizers (MEAL Specialists), activity leads and knowledge users into day-to-day tools, evidence products and impact communications;
- Manage the creation of updated knowledge products that showcase results and impact, to effectively profile USAID’s ACTB and icddr,b, and thus, support resource acquisition opportunities and policy influence that includes case studies, stories, reports, briefing notes, and other external-facing resources;
- Analyze the nature and type of KM content to be developed, identify and share more creative, efficient and effective ways to engage audiences and facilitate sharing and collaboration;
- Surface any hidden or unexplored opportunities for KM contents/products;
- Provide an insight (that improves the process) into the utility and efficacy of the KM systems;
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and partners to find creative ways to publish and disseminate lessons learned;
- Identify and curate content for diverse audiences and platforms;
- Work with Development and Communications Department to manage and curate social media opportunities such as Facebook posts, twitter handles and blogs to communicate program results and build awareness of the USAID’s ACTB to priority stakeholder audiences;
- Develop and disseminate different KM products such as impact stories, capability statements, newsletters, reports, blog stories, etc.;
- Create digital and other relevant content/products for social media, outreach, and other appropriate platforms using design and editing applications.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Masters in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, English, International Relations, Journalism or any other relevant subject;
- At least 5 years of experience in international/multinational organizations, NGOs or development organizations.
