Key Responsibilities:
The Research officer will be reporting to Principal Investigator. S/he will be responsible for:
- Work with Principal Investigator in research design and methodology;
- Collaborate with other PIs to align project along different research verticals/areas in the research group;
- Estimate requirements for non-financial resources based on research methodology;
- Allocate resources across research areas;
- Seek approval from Division Office, Finance, RRC, ERC, etc. on protocol and project-related forms;
- Coordinate with Research Administration (RA) for registering projects with government/ international authorities and for securing licenses or approvals for research-related activities in order to support the creation of proposals and protocols with funding potential.
- Build rapport with the community;
- Identify potential Key informants, FGD participants, and IDI participants following the eligibility criteria;
- Work with team members in preparing field plan;
- Collect high-quality data timely adhering to the ethical guidelines;
- Submit the data, check transcription, and code qualitative data in order to proper implementation of the project.
- Write initial report;
- Discuss with all team members on initial reports together for consensus on findings;
- Prepare final report for submission to supervisor;
- Revise final report based on feedback received from supervisor;
- Work with supervisor in writing manuscript in order to support scientific manuscript creation.
Required qualification and experience:
Young, bright individuals who meet the following criteria and are aspiring to develop their career as public health researchers in the research-based environment at icddr,b are encouraged to apply.
- Master’s degree in Anthropology from a reputed institute with excellent academic records.
- At least 3 years of experience in relevant field (experience of working on sensitive issues like gender and violence against women will be preferred) with strong interpersonal and excellent communication and writing skills in English.
- Candidates who demonstrated exceptional research and analytical skills will be given preference.
- Must have strong critical thinking skills, ability to identify substantive problems that threaten to the research activities and creative capacity to resolve these problems. S/he should be proactive, dynamic, and capable of working independently.
