POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program, Research, and Knowledge Management Advisor will design and plan program activities and implementation; provide strategic advice and direction to the project team; ensure integration of survivor inclusion and gender in program planning; manage research-related activities of the project; facilitate an environment for learning and development; assist in preparing reports and knowledge products; and other tasks as assigned by the Project Director.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Program Design and plan program activities as per the policies and procedures applicable to the project. Develop the necessary documents for program planning and implementation;
  2. Assist the project team in effective program implementation and documenting progress. Provide strategic advice and direction as well as technical inputs to the Project Director and the project team;
  3. Facilitate the development of program assessment tools and protocols for evaluation and improvement. Ensure survivor inclusion and gender are integrated and mainstreamed throughout the program planning and implementation. Identify, analyze, and evaluate program risks and advise solutions to mitigate them;
  4. Ensure implementation of program activities as per the compliance and policies of the local government, donor, and Winrock International. Research Guide and supervise the research-related activities of the project. Assist and coordinate with the research partner/s of the project;
  5. Ensure all the studies of the project are completed in time and the findings are captured as well as incorporated in decision making. Develop Terms of Reference for firms or consultants for undertaking studies for the project. Assist the project team in selecting and involving firms or consultants for conducting research or study;
  6. Knowledge Management Facilitate and foster an environment of learning and development for the project team and staff of the project partners. Ensure and establish a knowledge management strategy or system that allows the project team to capture lessons learned and to take informed decisions;
  7. Assist the project team in writing reports and producing as well as disseminating knowledge products. Guide and supervise the Knowledge Management and Communication Specialist. Manage knowledge-sharing events in collaboration with stakeholders. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Educational:

Master’s level degree in any social science subject from a reputed university.

Professional:

  • Minimum eight years of experience in program planning and implementation, research, and knowledge management;
  • Knowledge and understanding of human trafficking in Bangladesh;
  • Understanding of and expertise in survivor inclusion and gender mainstreaming. Interest in and enthusiasm for climate-resilient activities and interventions;
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience in word processing, spreadsheets (Excel), and technical writing.

Skills:

  • Fluent in Bangla and English;
  • Microsoft Office Skills. Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • People management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams and in a multicultural environment;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and manage multiple competing priorities and activities;
  • Ability to prepare and submit reports as well as to respond to donor queries or requests;
  • Ability to travel frequently to project areas.
