The Institute is recruiting a Fundraising Officer to support the Senior Management Team of the European Institute of Peace to prepare and follow up meetings and contacts with donors with a view to developing new partnerships and to diversifying the Institute’s sources of funding.

You will

  • Support the Executive Director and the Senior Management Team to initiate and strengthen partnerships with Foundations, notably in Europe and the US;
  • Identify and contribute to fundraising opportunities that are relevant to the work of the Institute and its peace building and conflict resolution partners, with particular focus on trusts and foundations and on flexible or unrestricted funding sources;
  • Support the Executive Director and the Senior Management Team to set and achieve fundraising targets and to nurture and consolidate relationships with existing donors;
  • Upgrade internal communication regarding the Institute’s ongoing engagement with donors and Foundations;
  • Prepare and participate in meetings of the ED and SMT with Foundations and Trusts and ensure timely follow up;
  • Provide input on the development by programme managers of concept notes and funding proposals;
  • Help develop and maintain a system for capturing and sharing relevant information on engagement with donors.

Profile

  • University degree;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Keen interest and motivation in fundraising, with the desire to learn, develop and advance personal career prospects;
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to carry out administrative duties effectively;
  • Excellent command of English is essential. Any other EU language is also an asset;
  • Strong written skills with the ability to tailor templates, thank you letters, updates and applications;
  • Strong IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
