Action Mondiale Conter la Faim recrute un Conseil aux partenaires experts basé à Ouagadougou au Burkina Faso.
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, with frequent travel to the project locations in the country. Main operations are in Centre Nord, Centre Est and Haut Bassins.
Welthungerhilfe (WHH) Burkina Faso has the vision of a « prosperous Burkina Faso, where the population lives in dignity, peace and security and free from hunger ». To this end, WHH works with the Burkinabe government to improve food and nutrition security and the livelihoods of people affected by poverty and hunger, conflict and natural disasters. As Expert Partner Advisory you will provide professional advice to local partner organizations and target groups on the implementation of projects financed by WHH according to the specified directives in terms of content, schedule and budget, in order to help them in achieving the project goals.
Your responsibilities
- Collaborate with the related units to ensure effective application of and compliance with internal and donor regulations;
- Review and approve all operational and financial plans (including forecasts and fund requests) submitted by partner organizations, in close cooperation with the Head of Project where applicable;
- Ensure partnership evaluation, effectiveness and monitoring of the partners’ capacity-building plans;
- Set up and implement a system for evaluating the institutional and operational performance of each WHH partner in coordination with the MEAL focal person;
- Assist partner organizations in setting up project monitoring dashboards with the support of the MEAL unit;
- Assist partners in the identification of institutional and operational capacity development needs
- Support for capacity building of partners;
- Disseminate WHH rules and policies to partners;
- Ensure operational coordination of partner projects through quarterly field visits, project reviews and planning meetings between WHH and its partners to leverage achievements and lessons learned;
- Ensure institutional and strategic coordination of all partnerships through the conceptualization and implementation of the partnership frameworks;
- Act as interim Head of Project as required.
Your profile
- A university or college degree in a relevant field;
- A minimum of 5 years experience working in a similar position;
- Sound experience in collaborating with national partner organizations;
- Experience working in the Sahel region and operating in complex international environments with multi-cultural and multi-ethnic settings is a strong asset;
- Knowledge of regulatory, contractual, legal and financial compliance requirements associated with the donor/partner funding;
- Willingness to travel to remote and volatile locations, perform under high pressure and understand work life balance;
- Readiness to receive necessary vaccinations for working in Welthungerhilfe’s project countries;
- Excellent spoken and written English and French language skills.
