WeWorld recrute un(e) Gestionnaire de projets multiples Burundi basé à Bujumbura.
The Multi Project Manager will supervise three projects (one being launched and two being implemented) in accordance with the strategy, plans and policies of the WeWorld mission in Burundi. He/She will ensure the technical and quality control of the interventions of the projects under his/her supervision, in liaison with each Project Manager and the Programme Coordinator, and will contribute to the development of new interventions.
MAIN FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Ensuring quality implementation of 3 resilience projects (one in the start-up phase and two in the implementation phase);
- Coordinate work, provide quality control and support to Project Managers (direct supervision and capacity building);
- Coordinate the development of new projects related to resilience building (logical framework design, participation in budget development and narrative writing) in collaboration with other stakeholders in the organisation (WeWorld HQ, technical experts, etc.);
- Supervise and coordinate reporting to donors in collaboration with each Project Manager (one project funded by the European Union, one project funded by WFP and one project funded by UNICEF);
- Represent WeWorld in the coordination meetings of these projects when necessary.
Project management, reporting and quality control
- Coordinating with Project Managers and relevant team members, supervise and update project work plans to ensure proper implementation of activities;
- With the support of the Country Finance Manager, support Project Managers in the management of budgets in accordance with donor and WeWorld guidelines;
- Provide ongoing capacity building to Project Managers through regular field visits and meetings with staff and project team members;
- Ensure that all reports are properly drafted and submitted on time to donors;
- In the absence of the Project Managers, carry out management tasks relating to the implementation of the projects from a programmatic, logistical and financial point of view;
- Create synergies between the various ongoing resilience projects and other interventions in the field;
- Organise regular programme meetings with the Project Managers (and other members of the field project teams, as required);
- Organise programme workshops to share experiences with the teams from the various resilience projects;
- Coordinating with Project Managers, ensure that administrative support for financial reports and annual project audits is well organised.
Human resources
- Supervise and build capacity of relevant project teams;
- In accordance with WeWorld procedures and in collaboration with the Human Resources Department, support as required the Project Managers and HR Department in the recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation of the project staff team, including the identification of capacity building needs and the implementation of appropriate training sessions;
- Ensure that project staff respect WeWorld rules and regulations and observe WeWorld values and code of ethics.
Monitoring, evaluation and supervision
- In collaboration with the MEAL Manager, supervise the proper functioning of the project monitoring and evaluation system;
- Support the MEAL Manager in the implementation and supervision of project MEAL plans;
- Coordinating with Project Managers, monitor progress and the achievement of results.
Representation and coordination
- In coordination with the Project Managers, Programme Coordinator and Country Representative, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with donors, project stakeholders and other organisations working in the project areas;
- Participate proactively in the various coordination meetings relating to resilience at national level;
- Contribute to the proper management of and collaboration with the projects’ programmatic; partners (consultants, donors, etc.).
The duties and responsibilities set forth above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to perform additional duties requested by the Programme Coordinator, for the effective and quality implementation of WeWorld’s resilience strategy and projects in Burundi, and in accordance with the needs of the mission.
Qualifications and Knowledge
- An advanced University degree or equivalent in the field of Law and International Law, Social or Political Science, Development Studies, International Relations, Project Management;
- Knowledge of main donors’ policies and procedures (UE, UN, etc.);
- Fluent in French, both written and verbal;
- Intermediate in English, both written and verbal;
- Good computer skills, in particular MS Office package.
Professional experience
- At least 5 years’ relevant working experience in humanitarian or development settings;
- Experience in project management and reporting;
- Proven experience in project proposal writing.
