FCF|REACT Capacity Building on Adult and Child Mental Health
(2 positions: 1 international and 1 national – team preferred)
Objective and methodology of Consultancy:
The objective of this consultancy is to increase capacity (knowledge, skills, and attitudes) of FCF|REACT funded partners on common adult and child mental health problems so that they can improve early identification of mental health issues and primary intervention, as well as increase advocacy for referrals and development of specialized services.
The methodology includes conducting a training needs assessment in close collaboration with the FCF|REACT Child Protection team, development/adjustment of training curriculum, and provision of online training and remote coaching (webinars, online small groups discussions, individual coaching). A brief report of these training and coaching sessions will then be written.
Consultancy Role:
- Develop work plan, protocol and tools in consultation with Save the Children
- Share the key findings of the training needs assessment and draft the training curriculum in consultation with Save the Children
- Facilitate online training and remote coaching
- Be responsible for quality of work, with guidance from FCF|REACT team at Save the Children
- Report progress of work on a weekly basis to FCF|REACT Associate Technical Director, Child Protection
- Present first draft report to Save the Children in a timely manner
- Take into consideration Save the Children’s inputs and review comments
Consultant(s) Qualifications:
- University degree in a relevant field, preferably in clinical social work or clinical psychology
- At least 5 years of working experience in providing training and coaching related to adult and child mental health, including training needs assessment, designing training curriculum, and conducting training and coaching sessions
- Experience in psycho-social and mental health interventions, including community assessment, awareness-raising in mental health, providing individual, family and group intervention/treatment
- Knowledge of the Cambodian context is highly desirable
- Ability to work effectively with teams and independently as appropriate
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Fluency in spoken and written Khmer (for national)
- Previous exposure to and experience in child protection programming, appropriate care programming is desirable
