We are looking for Firmware Engineers and Architects off all levels from Senior to Principal, that are ready to take on new challenges and be a part of our industry disrupting teams.
Here at Infinera we value our team collaboration and autonomy. As one of our Firmware Engineers and Architects you will be responsible Code design, implementation and testing for Infinera’s next generation of Optical Engine used for Long Haul, Metro and Data Center Interconnects. You will also be Implementing embedded control firmware for high-reliability fiber optics and optoelectronic modules/sub-system controllers. You will collaborate and contribute on our new product development, as well as work closely across multiple divisions and teams at Infinera.

Knowledge/Skills
- A BS in Elec/computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent work experience (for our Staff Engineers to our Architects we’d like you to have a MS, Higher Degree or Equivalent work experience)
- 3 to 12+ years’ experience in software/firmware architecture and/or development for embedded systems
- 3 to 12+ years of experience in modern embedded software/firmware engineer and/or architectures with focus on modularity and reusability- like micro-services and container technologies
- Highly motivated industry disrupting team player
- Experienced in C/C++/Python programming experience & debugging skills for embedded systems.
- Familiarity with assertions and functional coverage
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multi-functional and geographically diverse team environments
- Good understanding of Real-Time Operating
- Good understanding of fundamentals of digital and analog circuit design
- Work with the development team to trouble shoot optical component (ROSA/TOSA) controls
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Nice To Have Skills
- Must have good communication skills
- Must have ability and desire to work as a team
- Excellent testing, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
- Proficient at firmware design and significant coding practice, 10 years+ programming experience in MCUs and real-time OS environment.
- Knowledge of numeric algorithms using C++, Matlab or Python.
- Experience with Embedded Firmware for control theory or Digital Signal Processing applications
