Role
The Knowledge Management and Consultant, reporting to the Head of Knowledge and Change Management (KCM), will be supporting implementation of several initiatives stemming from the Knowledge Management Strategy, Action Plan, and KM Roadmap. Projects the Consultant will support include: lessons learned methodology and practice, knowledge product development, Knowledge Café, GCF subscriptions and memberships, digital onboarding project roll out, knowledge partnerships, including providing support to the team in preparing for internal and external engagements, and research and drafting of various assignments assigned by the Unit Head.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Head of Knowledge Management, the consultant is expected to provide support to the team in the following areas:
• Lead one learning loops cycle, including finalization of a concept note for the exercise, execution, design of an implementation plan and publication of lessons from the new cycle,
• Digital onboarding project roll out, including a related communication strategy,
• Support the Unit Head in designing, developing and rolling out all aspects of Knowledge Café concept at the GCF.
• Manage corporate subscriptions pipeline, including their categorization, purchase, access, and dissemination to GCF personnel,
• Mapping GCF’s relevant memberships and knowledge partnerships, creating a database and pipeline for their management and prioritization, and support GCF participation in external engagements,
• Supporting the team with external partners engagements, including the writing of brief notes, PPTs, memos, minutes as well as preparing of other supporting material and providing logistical support,
• Supporting the team with content development. This would also include benchmarking exercises, surveys, multimedia, and visual knowledge products, and researching for and drafting of the KM roadmap, and other knowledge products.
• Other relevant tasks as needed and assigned by the supervisor.
Deliverables for 2023, to be prioritized and updated with the Unit Head:
• Learning loops: 1) Updated concept note for new cycle; 2) Recommendations; 3) Implementation plan; 4) Final report, including reflections on the exercise and suggestion for new cycle.
• Digital Onboarding: 1) Roll out of the program for internal and external stakeholders; 2) Communication strategy for launch and project exposure; 3) Manage pipeline of requests for changes or for new modules to be developed.
• Subscriptions: 1) Manage subscription pipeline; 3) Support purchasing of corporate subscriptions; 2) Manage subscription dissemination to GCF colleagues.
• Knowledge Partnerships: 1) Briefing notes; 2) follow ups and reports; 3) administrative support.
• Knowledge Café: 1) Support contract management; 2) Logistical support.
• Content development: participation in Roadmap drafting, KM report drafting, visualization and other assignments.
Required Experience and Qualifications
• Hold Master’s degree in public policy, knowledge management, business administration, climate change, education, or other relevant disciplines,
• Graduating with merit or honours is an advantage,
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience,
• Excellent research and drafting skills in English for publications,
• Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, including experience with office suite (e.g. excel, word, outlook), survey tools (e.g. Microsoft forms) and preferably with online learning platforms.
• Excellent data analysis, evaluation and reporting skills,
• Familiarity with Knowledge Management practices,
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines,
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills,
• Self-motivation, self-initiative skills will be of high value.
• Knowledge of climate change agenda is an advantage,
• Good understanding and experience in operations of international organizations is an advantage.
