REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (EOI)
PREPARATION OF KWOWLEDGE PRODUCTS ON URBAN SANITATION, WATER
RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND WATER RESOURCES MONITORING, INFORMATION SYSTEMS
- This request for expression of interest is for the provision of consulting services for the preparation of knowledge products based on the Africa Water Facility’s experiences, lessons learned and practices. The African Water Facility (AWF) is an initiative of the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW), hosted and administered by the African Development Bank. Its overall purpose is to support African countries to mobilize and apply resources for the development of the water sector towards the successful implementation of the Africa Water Vision 2025 and achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ;
- The 2019 independent evaluation underscored the importance of AWF to generate knowledge products to inform various stakeholders on its achievements, demonstrating and documenting good practices and innovations from various AWF projects related to feasibility studies, catalytic interventions, small grants for pilot initiatives among others. The production of a ‘best practices’ knowledge products will showcase some of the best projects of the AWF that can be replicated by other communities ;
- The service constitutes the preparation of knowledge products including success stories, podcasts, videos, project and policy briefs, short power point presentation among others for selected projects, covering specific disciplines and crosscutting themes. These are: i) urban sanitation, ii) water resources management, iii) water resources monitoring & information systems; iv) gender mainstreaming; v) climate change and adaptation ; employment and social equity. These outputs shall be informed by desk study analyses; field visits; consultations with AWF/ AHWS staff; implementing agencies of different countries and other relevant departments within the Bank ;
- Given the specificity of these themes, the assignment is organized in two lots: i) Lot 1 will address the production of knowledge products, covering Urban Sanitation and Water Resources Management and, ii) Lot 2 will address the production of products, covering Water Resources Monitoring and Information Systems ;
- The overall duration of this assignment is 84 working days for lot 1 (3.75 months period) and 45 working days for lot 2 (2 months period), from the dates of commencement ;
- The AWF invites eligible Consulting Firms to indicate their interest in providing these services, for the two lots or for lot 1 or lot 2. Interested firms must provide documents indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.) ;
- The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedure shall be in conformity with the Bank’s Rules and Procedure for the Use of Consultants under projects financed by the Bank Group, May 2008 Edition, revised in July 2012 (available on the Bank Website at http://www.afdb.org). Please, note that interest expressed by a Consulting Firm does not imply any obligation on the part of the AWF to include it in the shortlist ;
- Interested firms may obtain further information at the address below during office hours from 8:00 to 12:00 a.m. and 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time in Cote D’Ivoire ;
