Key Responsibilities
As Offshore Commissioning Site Leader in the Tyra Redevelopment Project you will be able to shape and develop a central role with great influence in manage commissioning progress and implement improvements for a major offshore commission campaign involving multiple topsides in segregated locations with different sail away/arrival time frames under the direction of the Commissioning Manager. You will use your knowledge and experience applying a range of techniques being the Permit To Work Authority in the commissioning Area covering all activities.
As well as of Project Management techniques when maintaining strong internal and external networks with stakeholders.
Overall, you have the responsibility of execute the offshore commissioning activities of the entire Tyra project. These areas of responsibilities will include tasks such as:
- to make sure the preparation and the execution of the Commissioning activities are done in a safe way
- ensure your team is complying with the safety rules in place all during the onshore and offshore activities
- Manage the CSC area of responsibility
- Manage the Permit to Work in the Commissioning Area
- Coordinate activities of Discipline Leaders in support of preparation tasks
- Identify and address all interfaces issues with other project packages related to the commissioning activities,
- You can be requested to travel to construction sites to support ongoing activities for limited periods (one/two weeks);
- manage the organisation and coordination of all remaining and commissioning activities to be done f.e.
- The supervision of the Commissioning Contractors,
- The management and follow-up of Vendor mobilisation, in close coordination with the Project planning and the Project manager;
- The validation of the results of some key functions tests in general all Commissioning Procedures;
- The management of the punch list clearance before the final completion of commissioning;
- The review and approval of the commissioning dossiers after completion of commissioning activities and signature of the Ready For Operation and Hand Over certificates.
The position is based on a 3×3 rotation basis (3 weeks offshore, 3 weeks time-off)
Context and environment
Tyra Redevelopment Project (TRP) Greenfield scope of work consist in the upgrade of an existing offshore field in order to extend its lifetime and production. Its new facilities mainly consist of:
- 4 WELLHEAD PLATFORMS TOPSIDES (TE & TW)
- 2 RISERS PLATFORM TOPSIDES (TE & TW)
- 1 CENTRAL PROCESS PLATFORM TOPSIDES (TEG)
- 1 LEAVING QUARTERS PLATFORM TOPSIDES (TEH)
- NEW JACKETS FOR TEG & TEH
Main EPC Contracts have been awarded to:
- McDermott: Process Platform (Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia / Batam – Indonesia)
- SMOP: WHRP’s (Singapore)
- Rosetti: LQ (Milan / Ravenna – Italy)
The responsibility of Mechanical Completion and Commissioning of TRP will be split between EPC Contractor (onshore) and CPY (offshore).
EPC CTR’s are responsible for execution of onshore Yard Commissioning as well as for the preparation of required Commissioning procedure for Onshore execution Phase (Engineering).
CPY remain responsible for the Offshore execution phase, including the preparation of the database and procedures, and for the supervision of Engineering by EPC and Onshore Phase execution in the yards. The following contractors are the selected for the offshore commissioning campaign:
- ISC (Esbjerg- Denmark): in charge of offshore database preparation and WHRP Commissioning Functional Testing Procedure
- Commissioning Service Contractor: who will be selected first quarter 2021 to support for the offshore commissioning and author the remaining procedures (TEG, integration of all other topsides).
- DNV: will continue as a third-party certification authority for the entire project.
The Project installation is staggered such that the HUC&W campaign is divided mainly into three phases. The perimeter of the RSES will evolve according also to the various HUC phases as depicted below.
Phase 1: Cold HUC with TE WHRP and TEH living quarter installed both in islanded mode.
Phase 2: Cold HUC with TEG installation and TW WHRP (remote) installation, including well reinstatement.
Phase 3: Hot commissioning (SIMOPS) and first gas export until end of ramp-up, including well’s unsuspension.

This is with good ability to organize and manage a team and coordinate his activities and responsibilities with other entities/stakeholders of the Tyra Project and therefore able to communicate and to work with all company and vendor personnel is relevant. We are looking for a strong team player with the ability to build relationships and work constructively with others to achieve business goals. Good interpersonal and communicative skills are essential in order to build relationships and work constructively with others to achieve business goals. Moreover, this position calls for excellent constructive and supporting communication skills, as English may not be the site workers first language.
Your background
- 10+ years of experience in Oil & Gas Projects activities, Commissioning and familiar with typical offshore installation
- Proficiency in oral and written English
- Hands on and computer literate
- Experience in North Sea is a plus
- Knowledge of OPERCOM Methodology
- Good knowledge of Commissioning Methodology and Databases;
- Hands on with PIMS-CMS is a plus.
