Summary of key results:
Child Protection Officer “Justice for Children” will:
1.Provide Support to the programme development and planning
Researching and analyzing regional and national political, protection, social and economic development trends to facilitate Justice for Children Programme Component development.
Preparing technical reports as well as providing technical and administrative support throughout all stages of programming processes to facilitate the Programme review and approval process.
2.Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results.
Provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the justice for children programme to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of the programme delivery and accomplishment of programme goals and objectives through advocacy and the provision of technical support for legal reforms, policy development, networking and capacity building.
Contributes to development of plan and implementation of activities in the justice sector and build capacity of partners to create the justice for children component of the child protection system and establish the linkages between the Justice and the Social Welfare Systems.
Analyzing and sharing information on implementation issues. Submitting reports to alert appropriate officials and stakeholders for higher-level intervention and/or decisions.
Participating in Monitoring and evaluation exercises with the government and counterparts. Preparing minutes/reports on results for follow up action. Reporting on issues identified as well as following up on unresolved issues to ensure resolution.
3.Provide Technical and operational support to the justice for children programme implementation
Undertaking field visits and sharing reports with partners and reporting on critical issues.
4.Networking and partnership building
Build and sustain close working partnerships with government counterparts and national stakeholders. Participate in inter-agency meetings/events on programming to collaborate with inter-agency partners/colleagues
Research information on potential donors and prepare resource mobilization materials and briefs for fund raising and partnership development purposes.
Draft communication and information materials for CO programme advocacy to promote awareness, and support fund raising for child protection programmes.
5.Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building
Promoting good practices to support the implementation and delivery of concrete and sustainable programme results. Act as a resource person in capacity building initiatives.
Qualifivations :
- A university degree in one of the following fields is required on law or human rights;
- A minimum of one year of professional experience in social development planning and management in child justice or related issues is required;
- Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset;
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.
Selection Criteria:
Knowledge on child justice system in Egypt or related issues;
Experience in design and delivery of capacity building programs.
