- During pre-construction stage:

- Defines technical specifications and risk-mitigation criteria during project development phase in coordination with con-developers and with the support of external engineering firms for all TSIB solar PV projects in Iberia region;
- Leads the standardization and cost optimization (CAPEX and OPEX) of TSIB HV infrastructures portfolio (Substations and Transmission Lines);
- Builds relationships with external partners (engineering firms, contractors, main equipment suppliers) and define the basis for long-term collaborations and partnerships.
- Leads the elaboration of technical documentation and the coordination of RFP processes for contracting works, services and equipment.
- Acts as main interface with Lender Technical Advisors during the financial structuring of the projects.
- Coordinates the collection of lessons learned from previous projects and share knowledge across the organization;
- Evaluation of Grid Impact studies in a steady state, dynamic and in transient state of all electrical parameters, performed internally or by third parties.
- During execution stage:
- Coordinates the design review of the HV engineering package provided by EPC Contractors with the support of external engineering firms.
- Coordinates the review of the HV main equipment FAT performed by EPC Contractors with the support of external engineering firms.
- Supports the respective EPC Project Managers with all technical issues arising during construction and commissioning of the projects;
- Coordinates the on-time submission and compliance with applicable standards of all EPC contractor´s deliverables required for the application to the “Acta de Puesta en Marcha” and to complete the grid connection process with REE and the local Distribution System Operator.
- Coordinates with the respective EPC Project Managers the on-time submission and compliance with applicable standards of all Total´s deliverables required for the application to the “Acta de Puesta en Marcha” and to complete the grid connection process with REE and the local Distribution System Operator.
- Assists the respective EPC Project Managers with all tests required by REE before and after the energization of the PV plants and the grid connection facilities.
Contexto y medio ambiente
Total Solar Ibérica develops, builds and operates solar projects in Iberia region, either with full ownership or with partners in JVs. This position is located in Madrid office (Spain).
This will involve coordination with other Iberia central operation functions such as PV engineering team, legal, finance, business development, project development, etc.
Candidate profile
- Senior HV engineer with at least seven (7) years of experience within the Spain renewable energy industry performing similar activities for a Utility company (desirable), EPC Contractor, or well-known IPP/Project Developer;
- Strong HV engineering background (Substations and Transmission Lines) with solid knowledge of the utility industry and applicable standards/regulations.
- Good understanding of the grid connection and energisation process of renewable energy projects in Spain
- Experience working during pre-construction stage in HV design feasibility analysis and cost optimization.
- Process driven individual with strong project management, communication, reporting and organizational skills;
- Fluent in Spanish and English; Knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is desirable but not a must;
- Highly self-motivated, with strong initiative and solution-oriented.
- Ability to work individually and as a team;
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned country/region as required.
