The Position:
The Human Resources Analyst, Programmes position is part of the UNFPA Young Professionals from Africa and of African Descent programme. The programme is open to qualified candidates who are 32 years of age or younger in 2021, who self-identify as a person of African descent or are an African national. The programme is intended to provide on-the-job training for young professionals who wish to obtain practical experience in international development and have the potential to grow into impactful leadership roles across the organization.
You will report directly to the Human Resources Specialist, Communications and Planning, Division for Human Resources (DHR).

Job Purpose:
The Human Resources Analyst, Programmes supports technical backstopping and quality control of the Director of the Division for Human Resources’ portfolio, contributes to the preparation and follow up of all the Director’s official travel, events and meetings. He/she supports the liaising with Stakeholders and UN Agencies, Funds, Programmes, Departments, Offices and relevant Units to advance work under the Director’s portfolio, and contributes to the effective monitoring, tracking and reporting of solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Advanced university degree in a relevant discipline and/or international relations.
Knowledge and Experience:
- 2 years of experience in working with international organizations;
- Ability to write clearly and concisely;
- Initiative, sound judgment and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with staff members from different national and cultural backgrounds;
- Earlier experience in UN/UNFPA is an asset;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and graphic design.
Languages:
Fluency in English is required and proficiency in French is desirable; knowledge of other official UN languages is an asset.
