Schedule: Two to three days per week, depending on the season
Hours: 10-12 hours per week (Could include some weekend and evenings)
Position Summary
The Wildlife Conservation Society seeks a production assistant to support Director of Photography with production needs for photo sessions, digital asset management, and other content making for publishing and promotion.
Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):
- Assisting with production needs and supporting photographer at photo sessions including working with lighting, gear set up and break down, securing models and releases, location scouting, prop sourcing, asset organization, and general assistance ;
- Support pre-production, production, and post-production workflows ;
- Post-production optimizing of photos for WCS Photo Collection, promotion, social, and earned media as assigned ;
- Work with WCS Photo Collection’s digital asset management system preparing images for general use with labeling, tagging, keywording, and uploading ;
- Writing captions and posts on subject-appropriate photographs for WCS Wild View blog ;
- Other duties as assigned including topic research and administrative.
Location
- Bronx Zoo (Could include some travel to New York Aquarium, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, Queens Zoo)

Criteria
- Willing and available to work for WCS ;
- Handle ever-changing schedule ;
- Highly motivated with an interest in photography, media, photo collection management, production, and writing.
Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
- Adobe Photoshop skills required ;
- Digital asset management experience ;
- Detail-oriented ;
- Experience in pre-and-post production of assets is preferred.
