Proposed activities associated with this research study include:
- Mapping of stakeholders: including communities, local implementing partners, local universities, government, UN agencies, local NGOs, INGOs, private sector, and donors, and the development of a stakeholder engagement strategy
- Initial scoping exercise and study design workshop: with CRS staff and key stakeholders (e.g. design of research questions, joint mapping of information needs, identification of existing data and evidence gaps, developing a scaling vision and dissemination strategy)
- Implementation of the study in collaboration with CRS staff and key stakeholders, including a literature review, a desk review of previous projects, and primary data collection as needed to fill evidence gaps, including through remote sensing and satellite analysis supported by a university partner.
- Implication: In consultation with CRS Ethiopian and other key stakeholders identify how the outcomes of the study can be utilized and aligned along with the CP strategy and scaling roadmap and strategy.
- Draft Report – development, review and dissemination of a draft report
- Final stakeholder workshop: with CRS staff and key stakeholders to review the findings, refine and/or develop recommendations, and identify applications for recommendations, informing the final report.
- Final report: Development of a final report
- Dissemination of key findings: the final report and key findings will be disseminated through CRS and stakeholder-identified channels, including publications and national and international conference presentations, as part of the scaling vision and dissemination strategy.
Final Report Details
Below are the anticipated expectations for the final report (10-20 pages not including Appendices)
• A title page;
• A list of acronyms and abbreviations;
• A table of contents, including a list of annexes;
• An executive summary;
• An introduction describing the study’s background and context;
• A description of the interventions studied including digital maps of watersheds (in collaboration with UVA and CRS Ethiopia also showing where the watersheds are located in the country map);
• A statement of the purpose of the study;
• Key research objectives, questions, and a statement of the scope of the study, with information on limitations and delimitations;
• An overview of the research approach and methodology and data sources;
• A description of the research findings;
• Recommendations based on the research findings;
• Lessons learned and good practices based on the research findings;
• Appendices – including Data Collection Tools.
