BACKGROUND & PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
Under the general supervision and guidance of the logistics assistant, an intern person with a disability will be responsible to deliver a full range of invoicing and documentation management, as per the WFP policies and procedures, and maintaining a proper filing system by following client-centered service strategy.
The Person with Disability Internship Programme is a learning opportunity aimed at attracting young and talented candidates across the country. The program will provide selected candidates with the opportunity to supplement their academic knowledge with a practical work assignment in a field related to the work of WFP. This will promote a better understanding of WFP Ethiopia’s mandate and programs. Similarly, the program will provide WFP with qualified individuals specializing in relevant fields in line with WFP’s Strategic Objectives and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
WFP’s activities include food assistance for relief, school feeding, safety nets, nutrition, and food assistance for asset creation through the provision of in-kind and cash-based transfers. You will be part of a dynamic team that effectively identifies, monitors evaluate and manages the organization’s strategic, operational, fiduciary, and financial risks in support of WFP’s country strategic plan for Ethiopia.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
DELIVERABLES BY THE END OF ASSIGNMENT ➢ Augmented support to the Logistics Unit in an effort to increase overall efficiencies of the operations in WFP Ethiopia. ➢ Weekly and monthly reports are produced to showcase achievements of the Logistics Unit. ➢ Tracking mechanisms created to capture operational information for better future decision making. ➢ Sub offices are equipped with the information, supplies, and food commodities required to achieve goals of reaching beneficiaries.
