WFP, in its capacity as the lead of the regional Pacific Logistics Cluster works with regional partners, including national logistics coordination mechanisms to enhance the capacity of Pacific governments to prepare for and respond to emergencies. The Pacific Logistics Cluster is also supporting the regional health response to COVID-19 that is being led by WHO and Pacific Ministries of Health, including coordination support to the WFP-led Pacific Humanitarian Air Service which is addressing gaps in air transport services.
WFP is looking for a dynamic national IM Officer who will be responsible for the day to day management of the information tools, under the technical guidance and support of the Global Cluster Information Management team.
Key accountabilitIes (not all-inclusive)
- Support the effective management of information by sharing and producing timely and relevant information for and among relevant partners in the Pacific region
• Support the development, together with Cluster Coordinators and in consultation with sector partners, of the coordination of Cluster response plans, strategy and log frame
• Proactively gather information from cluster partners and other organizations which may be of use in ensuring informed decision-making processes
• Develop and maintain database and activities, analyze and process the data, and share final information and products (dashboards, maps, etc.) with Cluster partners
• Ensure that data is collected and presented in a consistent manner with the Cluster objectives
• Develop required IM products on a regular basis: weekly transport service updates, weekly mission updates, periodic operations infographic, coordination meeting minutes, 4Ws database, Partners Presence Map, Gap Analysis, Funding Analysis, Activity Analysis
• Build and maintain Contact directories and mailing lists
• Maintain updated Cluster webpages with all relevant material
• Support the development and implementation of the Cluster communications and advocacy strategy
• Conduct capacity building for national Clusters on IM
• Contribute to the development of reports (Sitreps, Bulletins, newsletters) by providing the Cluster Coordinator with data and information
• Assist in organizing Cluster meetings and working groups, including presentation and meeting’s minutes
• Support global Cluster initiatives where applicable, e.g. CCPM (Cluster Coordination Performance Monitoring), global cluster annual overview, global dashboards, etc.
• Liaise with the Office of Humanitarian Assistance (OCHA) and IM Focal Points in other clusters, to attend IM Working Group meetings or other relevant WG meetings
• Any other duties as required
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Information Management, Environmental Science, Social science, GIS or any other relevant field with at least four years of professional experience in Information Management
• Or a Master’s degree in the related fields with two years of dynamic professional responsibility in Information Management
• Experience in humanitarian or development contexts is preferable
• Experience in logistics-related topics is highly desirable.
Knowledge and skills:
- General knowledge of information management’s standard methodologies, techniques, and processes with some understanding of the basic theoretical background
• Proven written and verbal communications skills with high attention to detail and proofreading ability
• Ability to collaborate closely and communicate with a wide range of partners and decision makers
• Ability to craft (and/or adapt) the right tools to collect and analyze data as well as to present information in a way that is easily understood by the Cluster members, and external audience (i.e. graphic means such a mapping but also through tables, charts, and narrative writing)
• Solid understanding of and experience in using MS Office package, particularly in advanced Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to maintain and run website content for the cluster
• Data storage and file management expertise
Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
