The Role
Oxfam is looking for a Strategic Advocacy Coordinator to work with the Global Protection Cluster, co-leading an inter-agency Task Team on Protection Advocacy, leading the implementation of a new Advocacy Strategy, organizing high level influencing events and supporting country protection clusters through capacity-building, mentoring and developing advocacy tools and guidance.
Please note that this role is subject to funding approval.
What we are looking for
As Strategic Advocacy Coordinator you will sit within Oxfam’s Global Humanitarian Team (GHT), working primarily with the Global Protection Cluster, bringing excellent advocacy experience and a strong understanding of protection and protection clusters and humanitarian leadership. You will have worked on protection in humanitarian crisis, understanding both the roles of national and local actors, and the international humanitarian system, and be able to build capacity, mentor and support others to carry out high quality advocacy.
Fluent in both French and English is essential and knowledge of another language, e.g Spanish or Arabic, is desirable.
