Responsibilities:
- Work under the guidance of the scientific officer/project manager to collect data from the various meteorological instruments in the ICRISAT campus.
- Collect daily meteorological observations as assigned round the year.
- Measure rainfall from vast network of rain gauges located all over ICRISAT campus.
- Collect data and maintain records of all activities undertaken in the lab.
- Submit/change the observations on display boards at different locations on daily basis.
- Submit daily weather data to IMD, Pune and IMD, Hyderabad site for local weather forecasting.
- Collect soil moisture observations using different methods/ sensors from the experimental fields, as and when assigned.
- Assist in field /administrative activities in the department as and when assigned.
Competencies:
- Working knowledge on different meteorological instruments/sensors and data handling.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in Telugu and English.
- Knowledge in the use of various software applications (MS Word, MS Excel) and exposure to handling different types of data.
- Strong team person and willing to work with research team and meet the needs of research team.
Requirements:
Intermediate or equivalent qualification with at least 5-6 years’ experience in meteorological data collection. Willingness to travel to project locations for field data collection.
