Tasks and responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the UN-Nutrition Executive Secretary and the overall guidance of the ESN Director in compliance with corporate policies and under the functional supervision of Office of Communications for all communication outputs/products, the general objective of this consultancy is to provide technical support to the set-up of the District Health Information Software 2 (DHIS2) web-based mapping tool in selected countries; in particular the consultant will undertake the following tasks and objectives:
- Customize the DHIS2 web-based mapping tool based on information and data provided by countries;
- Integrate the DHIS2 web-based mapping tool into the national server;
- Support members of country teams and the UN-Nutrition Secretariat in technical backstopping and troubleshooting on DHIS2 related matters;
- Migrate analytical tools upon request to country servers or host organization
- Perform other duties, as required.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
- University degree (Bachelor’s) in data science, economics, development studies or related field of study;
- Two years of relevant experience as a data analyst, with exposure to nutrition or a related field;
- Working knowledge (level C) of English, and limited knowledge of French (level B).
Technical/Functional Skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse, organize, synthetize and report large amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy
- Acquired skills in database and web-based technologies
- Knowledge of the multi-sectoral dimensions of nutrition (e.g., food security, public health, clean water, proper sanitation environment, optimal care practices, education and gender, among other factors)
- Effective written and oral communication, with a focus on crisp, concise outputs.
