DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the overall supervision of the NGO unit Communications Officer, and in close collaboration with other colleagues from the NGO unit, the intern will contribute to the implementation of the unit communications and Knowledge Management strategy as well as to the organization of the Annual Partnership Consultation, the main event for WFP NGO partners, as well as other events, meetings, and consultations throughout the year.
The candidate will perform the following duties:
- Support the implementation of external and internal communications plans and campaigns by producing written and visual content for offline and online distribution.
- Manage the NGO unit’s main communications channels (Yammer, Bulletin, Twitter), posting content, moderating, and managing the online communities.
- Support the development of training modules and webinars for country offices and partners related to technical or operational guidance as needed.
- Assist and support with the research and development of the unit’s overall Knowledge Management strategy.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of the Annual Partnership Consultation (APC) and other events and consultations. Maximize any communication opportunities arising from such events.
- Take meeting minutes, prepare Notes for the Record, and collect Q & A during meetings, events and consultations and disseminate them as required.
- Perform other related duties, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Preferred Field of Study: Communications, Graphic Design, English Literature, Development Studies, International Relations.
- Knowledge or experience with specific Office 365 tools (or their consumer equivalents) such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Publisher is a distinct advantage
- Knowledge of platforms like CANVA, Photoshop and AVID (or other video editing tools) is an advantage

WORKING LANGUAGES
Working knowledge of English (proficiency/level C) is required. Knowledge of a second UN official language is ad advantage.
