Procurement of Works

Lot 3-Construction of Mwiki and Clay Works Reticulation Sewers

IFB No: AWWDA/NaRSIP II/W-03/2020

 

  1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN Ref. No. AfDB266-02/19) for this project that appeared in UNDB online and AfDB website on 28th February 2019 ;
  2. The Government of Kenya has received financing from the African Development Bank in various currencies towards the cost of Nairobi Rivers Basin Rehabilitation and Restoration Program: Sewerage Improvement Project (PHASE II). It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Construction of Mwiki and Clay Works Reticulation Sewers ;
  3. The Athi Water Works Development Agency, the executing agency of the programme, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the execution of the following works :
  • Laying of 120km reticulation sewers in Kasarani, Mwiki and Clay works areas of Nairobi ;
  • 6000 no. sewer household connections and ;
  • Construction of 2 No. Faecal Sludge handling facilities within Nairobi.
  1. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of The Chief Executive Officer, Athi Water Works Development Agency, Africa Re-Centre, Hospital Rd, P.O. Box 45283-00100 Nairobi, Kenya, during office hours (8.00am to 5.00pm East African Time) on week days except public holidays ;
  2. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 1,000 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only). The bidding documents may also be downloaded from the AWWDA website: awwda.go.ke or www.tenders.go.ke free of charge. Bidders who download the bidding documents from the website MUST forward their particulars immediately to [email protected] for records and any further clarifications and addenda ;
  3. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Works ;
  4. Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 00pm East African Time on 22nd September, 2020 and must be accompanied by a security (Unconditional Bank Guarantee) of KES. 2,000,000.00 (Kenya Shillings Two Million Only) ;
  5. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 05pm East African Time on 22nd September, 2020 at the offices of ;
