Save the Children is seeking to recruit an Emergency Coordinator – (200003OC)
Role purpose:
The Emergency Coordinator will be based in North Lebanon, managing the emergency activities in response to the Covid-19 outbreak in North Lebanon.
He/she will ensure that the implementation is compliant with adapted SOPs and of the highest technical quality that programs are delivered on time with proper staff management, that monitoring processes are in place, that reporting is high-quality and timely, that programmes are continually assessed and solutions quickly put in place for any changes in local context.

Level 3 – the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people.

Reporting to: FSL Officer
Key areas of accountability:
Programme implementation
- -Oversee the implementation of Save the Children’s FSL, WASH & Shelter interventions in response to the corona outbreak in North Lebanon, ensuring that the highest technical standards are respected and targets are timely met.
- – With the FSL PM and Area Manager, finalize implementation plans for all emergency projects, and oversee weekly and monthly teams’ work plans to ensure that are in line with the implementation plan.
- – Work closely with supply chain and human resources teams to ensure procurement and recruitment plans are in place, respectively, and ensure relevant follow-up.
- – Oversee budgets’ forecasting based on the implementation plan.
- – Produce timely reports for internal use on the status of on-going programming; and contribute to donor reporting in compliance with SC and donor’s requirements.
Programme development
- – Work closely with MEAL and technical advisors to develop and implement needs assessment and provide analysis and contextual expertise in to the proposal development.
- – Work with the area management and technical advisors to support a multi-sectorial programming through raising needs and opportunities.
- – Assure and ensure risk assessments and mitigation plans are in place for child safeguarding.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- – Ensure that emergency activities are monitored, and that data is collected on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
- – Regularly visit project sites to ensure that teams are appropriately supported and a safe programming approach is assured.
Coordination and representation
- – Maintain good relationship and links with key stakeholders such as governmental bodies, UN agencies, INGOs and other local NGOs and CBOs, identify opportunities and ensure Save the Children’s participation in key activities of the local level.
- – Represent Save the Children at the appropriate working groups (Mainly for now WASH/Shelter/livelihoods).
Other
- – Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
Qualifications and experience and attributes:
- – Degree in Economics, Finance, International Relations, Development studies or similar field
- – Strong experience of humanitarian programming is essential (Not less 12 months in a similar role)
- – Demonstrated experience in managing a team in a humanitarian context
- – Excellent time management skills
- – Strong experience in field work and community mobilization; and in training groups of beneficiaries
- – Fluency in written and spoken English
- – Strength in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Previous experience of liaising with the UN, national and donor governments and NGOs as advantage
- – Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours, and capability to work in insecure environment
- – Available and willing to travel throughout Lebanon
