Operating Network

You will report to the Head of Unit and to the Head of Division and work in close cooperation with the other HR lawyers and colleagues in the Division.

Accountabilities

  • Contribute to manage the legal procedures that fall within the HR Directorate’s remit: administrative review procedures, Dignity at Work procedures and disciplinary proceedings.
  • Draft any legal documents (letters, notes, reports, minutes of meetings, reasoned opinions) required in the context of the legal procedures.
  • Act as legal secretary for the Dignity at Work Panel and for the Disciplinary Committee and organise their functioning; act as legal support for the members of the Dignity at Work Panel and the Disciplinary Committee and provide them with legal advice, if needed.
  • Provide legal research and advice on staff matters, including, but not limited to staff rights and benefits under EIB Staff Rules and Regulations, Data Protection, Code of Conduct, Performance evaluation and related matters, medical administrative procedures and other staff related procedures managed by the HR Directorate.
  • Take part in the development of policies and draft legal texts.
  • Take part in horizontal projects and initiatives, across the Division and/or beyond as needed.
  • Keep up to date with legal developments in legislation, regulations and jurisprudence pertaining to the Division’s activities.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships within the Bank.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Law. Specialisation in EU Employment and Labour Law would be an advantage
  • At least 3 years of legal professional experience
  • Experience with an international organisation/company would be an asset
  • Experience in labour law would also be an advantage
  • Knowledge of EU institutional and policy framework, notably in the social relations field, would be an advantage
  • Good understanding of the Bank’s mission, organisation and activities
  • Discretion and maintaining confidentiality are essential
  • Knowledge of standard office tools
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*), with a good command of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
