Machipanda Railway Rehabilitation Project
GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
- The Mozambique’s Rail and Port Authority (CFM) has applied for a grant from the African Development Bank through the New Partnership for Africa’s Development – Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility (NEAPAD / IPPF) to finance the related studies for the Rehabilitation of Machipanda Railway Project.
- The principal objectives of this project and its related studies are to : CFM is undertaking the rehabilitation of the Machipanda railway line. The line was originally built in 1899, a single 317 km track rail link which rises from the sea level at Beira Port to about 300 meters at the border with Zimbabwe. The Grant is provided to support the CFM to finalise the Environmental and Social studies for the project.
- The studies includes the following components:
Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA)
Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS)
Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP)
Resettlement Action Plan (RAP)
- Procurement of consultant services will be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s Procurement Framework dated 2015, which is available on the website afdb.org . The Requests for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are expected to be available by June 2021.
