DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical assistance to organize and document regional and national R4D projects related meetings, workshops, training, field visits, exposure visits, and knowledge forums.
  • Assist the Country Coordinator of the regional projects (e.g., NEXUS Gains, SI-MFS, Irrigation) to coordinate meetings and workshops with partners, produce summary reports, and track the results of research projects.
  • Aid the Project Leaders in preparing, implementing, monitoring, and documenting annual project work plans, progress reports, budget expenses, outputs, and results.
  • Assist Project Leaders in updating the Project Management System.
  • Actively contribute to Change Management in IWMI.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular virtual and in-person meetings with the project team and implementing partners for effective planning, coordination, and output delivery.
  • Track partner progress, including monitoring deliverables, compulsory trainings for partner’s staff involved in the project, and expenditure progress.
  • Assist the researchers/project leaders in preparing the Terms of Reference for hiring interns, consultants, and partners, and assist with contract amendment and follow-up of the contracts.
  • In coordination with researchers and the office administration team, maintain the data/record of project events, interns, consultants, key contacts, and beneficiaries, and assist the preparation of six-monthly country progress reports.
  • Develop and maintain project-specific databases and monitoring systems that provide required data/information related to project implementation and results tracking.
  • Support the preparation and documentation of progress reports, including technical reports to be submitted to funding agencies and partners.
  • Represent IWMI and coordinate institutional activities when needed.
  • Provide assistance for partnership management and networking activities as required by the Institute.

Requirements

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Essential

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Development Studies, Natural Resources, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of related professional and practical experience, including project management, coordination, and results reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in documentation, especially in preparation of correspondence, briefings & terms of references for procuring services.
  • Exposure in coordination, design, and delivery of workshops and knowledge forums.
  • Experience in project monitoring and evaluation, and partnership management.

Desirable

  • Result-based monitoring, and computer software to be used for project activity progress tracking (e.g., ClickUp).
  • Working experience in international research organizations and/or water management programs.
  • Experience of working in Terai and Western Nepal.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated skills in program/project management, related software, including organization of project workplan and outputs tracking.
  • Excellent oral and written language skills in English, including effective listening and strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to organize workshops, events, fieldwork, knowledge forums, training, and be a master of ceremony.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Strong interpersonal & networking skills to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize, plan, implement and monitor project work plans.
  • Willingness to part take in multi-tasking project support functions.
  • Strong analytical mind, with the ability to synthesize and communicate persuasively.
