ROLE PURPOSE:
Save the Children (SC) and Action Against Hunger (ACF) are implementing the Empowering and Nurturing Resilience, Integration, and Community Health in Borno State (ENRICH) program. This multi-sectoral initiative aims to improve access to essential health, nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and protection services for conflict-affected populations in Borno State, Nigeria. The program focuses on reducing morbidity and mortality among children under five and pregnant and breastfeeding women (PBW), enhancing household food security, and building community resilience to future shocks. The MEAL Officer in Borno will be responsible for establishing and managing a robust Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) system for the project in their location. Core duties for the position include designing and implementing a MEAL system in accordance with Save the Children International (SCI) standards. The position holder will support evaluations/assessments, monitor program progress and quality, document lessons learnt, and contribute to periodic monitoring and reporting. Ensuring gender-sensitive, inclusive, and participatory MEAL processes, including children’s involvement, is crucial.
