. Health activities Coordination:
- Advise PRCS and the Ops Manager on health matters especially the operations of the medical health teams (MHTs);
- Assist PRCS and the Ops Manager in designing and supporting the implementation of capacity-strengthening activities for PRCS health staff to ensure health services are carried out following the agreed framework, tools, and guidelines, and are in line with the PRCS long-term health goals;
- Assist PRCS and the Ops Manager in preparation, reviewing, and revising proposals and budgets with health systems strengthening approach keeping a focus on the development of PRCS capacities for primary and community health services;
- Conduct joint, periodic technical monitoring and reviews with PRCS of the MHTs to identify and capture good practices, as well as identify and address operational challenges, capacity needs and gaps;
- Assist PRCS and the Ops Manager regarding medicines, Medical Equipment provision to PRCS and IEC materials preparation;
- Assist the PRCS in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the MHTs activities;
- Assess technical needs and gaps in the flood-affected district in collaboration with field staff to identify gaps and areas requiring further assistance/intervention;
- Assist in identifying possible funding sources and assist in the development of proposals;
- Participate and organize field monitoring, supervision, and evaluation missions, whenever required;
- Assist PRCS and the Ops Manager in the quality implementation of Health project implementation, while contributing to contingency planning for possible WASH emergency response, if required.
Contribute to Delivering quality in operations:
- As part of the health team and as per the guidance of the Ops Manager, ensure that tools, guidelines, and projects in the team are based on evidence, and applicable international standards and follow a resilience-based health approach;
- Ensure that operational questions and challenges are addressed by operational research in partnership with different research institutions and other internal and external partners;
- Ensure that behavioural change components and training are following good standards and are aligned with department-wide approaches;
- Coordinate operational updates/quality improvement with PRCS and other departments (i.e. Finance, operations, Partnerships, HR, Admin and PMER);
- In consultation with OM provide technical support to the PRCS Health team for flood operation activities (mainly quality and financial management).
d. Communications:
- Engage with PRCS NHQ and provincial staff to highlight and advocate operation objectives through regular communication, focus group discussions, case studies, special reports, and news items;
- Along with the field staff, involve representatives from different stakeholder groups including beneficiaries, health authorities, civil society, government, and traditional and formal justice systems;
- Capture the project activities and present them at various communication platforms to raise awareness along with showcasing the flood operation impact along with PRCS;
- Ensure documentation and consolidation of success stories, through which the communication department can be communicated externally;
- Provide support in direct communication with the programme focal person of PRCS-NHQ and with OM for the smooth functioning of the activities;
- On a daily/weekly/monthly basis, provide the Ops Manager with tracking/monitoring information, communication summaries and records requiring attention.
e. Reporting and documentation:
- Assist PRCS and contribute to the submission of periodic narrative and financial reports on IFRC-supported MHTs and other health activities of PRCS;
- Assist PRCS and IFRC field staff to prepare technical reports and documents as per donors’ requirements and provide support and detailed information about operation implementation;
- Work with the PMER team and communications colleagues to share information, lessons learned and best practices;
- Support and advise PRCS in the mapping of flood programming, progress, best practices, and ensure professional dialogue with and relevant support to technical staff and maintain a functioning network of delegates, national staff, and professionals in the health thematic area.
Work closely with the PRCS health team and help in findings solutions, especially in skill-building and qualitative and quantitative data collection and its analysis for identifying weak areas along with reporting to the back donors.
